These quick and easy treats to make with the kids make great spring time gifts. Picnics, Easter, birthdays, tea parties…. you name it.
How can I include Peeps in the festivities without actually having to eat them? Use them as a prop. Perfect.

Gather up a large pot or microwave bowl, 4 tablespoons butter, 6 cups total rice crispies and slightly crushed pretzels. Ratio is totally your preference. 12 oz of marshmallows (a 12 oz bag of jumbo marshmallows works like a champ). “Eggs” of some sort… Robbin’s eggs, jelly beans, peanut M&M’s… And a greased muffin tin.
Feel like you need to add rainbow sprinkles or vanilla? Get that ready now too.
Heat butter until melted, 30 seconds or so over medium heat or the microwave. Add marshmallows. Stir. Continue to melt another minute or two. Remove from heat and stir in rice crispies and pretzels. Add any other fixin’s you see fit before spooning into muffin tins. Using greased fingers or wax paper press mixture into tins while pressing into a nest shape. Easier said than done. …And try not to eat all of it.
While mixture is still pliable, press in your eggs and press a peep on top if you’d like. This just helps hold everything in place.

I toss mine in the fridge for a bit to harden up. Remove from the muffin tin by wedging a plastic utensil or small spatula down the side and popping them out.
Bravo. You nailed a kitchen craft with the kiddos with minimal clean up, and the kids get to enjoy their peeps! Win-win!
More quick, easy treats to make with the kids will be coming soon so stay tuned. : ) Now go prop your feet up and post below how you plan to enjoy your treats. Cheers!
