Simple, minimalist, wreath makes spring decor easy.
Quick! Want to make an easy DIY wreath to brighten up your home decor while the baby is napping? I do! As long as you have your supplies collected before hand you are good to go.
Since I have the pleasure of trimming the trees and bushes here at the house, I decided to put them to good use! Pretty good use of yard waste if you ask me.

Grab your supplies
Next time you run past the craft supply store grab a wreath frame or two and some flowers to brighten up your space. While you’re at it, grab seasonal supplies to make these awesome sugar cookies too! Ah, it feels good to be crafty, doesn’t it?
- A few super cute artificial flowers and complimentary greenery in colors that make you smile!
- Wreath base of your choice. I picked a wire frame as opposed to making one entirely out of sticks. I actually like letting the wire show, maybe that’s just me!
- Wire for attaching flowers securely in place. Pipe cleaner in an unobtrusive color works well too. A hot glue gun can also work. Use whatever you have access to.
- Cutters for wires and wire flower stems… they work on branches too in a pinch.
- Branches/twigs.
- Optional LED lights if you want to add a warm glow. (I found mine on Amazon)
The order you assemble is up to you. I enjoy branches, flowers then wrapping the lights around last… kind of holding everything together. Although you may like wrapping the lights around the branches then covering that up with foliage and flowers…
I don’t mind the light’s wire showing at all, I think it adds to it’s rustic charm.

A tip on twigs and branches…
Rather than fighting and snapping old brittle branches, collect fresh branches and remove leaves. This way the branches are soft and pliable, and bend a million times easier!
If you have twigs that are dry but you’d still like to incorporate them because of the color or texture, attach them securely with wire as they most likely will not be able to be woven into the frame. Use fresh branches to weave around them, holding everything together. Beautiful!

Lights
If you’re adding little LED lights, be sure to secure the switch in a place you can easily reach and can remain hidden. Remember to leave the battery compartment accessible in case you need to put in new batteries.
I prefer the battery operated lights as I don’t like having to plug them in depending on where they’re placed. LED lights are awesome because they stay cool to the touch… for days on end. 🙂 They are great for kid’s rooms too.

Feel free to place a bow on there somewhere… It’s really not my style but would be super cute. I’m feelin’ the minimalist vibe.
Look how easy that was! This was so cute I had to make one for my laundry room. (Anything I can do to make that room more inviting is a WIN! haha)
This was honestly one of the quickest crafts that brings me the most joy. So simple. So sweet. Makes me smile! …. and I got my trees trimmed!
